What you need:
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cups salt
3 cups water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
Food coloring or unsweetened Kool-Aid
What you do:
Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan.
Cook over medium low heat. Stir occasionally until the dough pulls away from the edges of the pan and becomes thick. Remove from heat when it is difficult to move the spoon.
Let the dough cool in the pan before turning it out on the counter or on waxed paper. Knead 3 - 4 times.
Store in an air tight container.
