A Ceresco, Neb., volunteer firefighter who crashed a firetruck was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Saunders County Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz said firefighter Rodney Lovell, 52, was operating the vehicle when it crashed early Monday.
The fire crew was responding to a 2:37 a.m. call involving a blaze in Valparaiso when Lovell missed a turn and ran the truck into a ditch.
Lovell was arrested after failing a field sobriety test, Stukenholtz said, and registered a blood-alcohol reading of .104. The legal limit is .08.
Stukenholtz said no injuries were reported and vehicle damage costs have yet to be determined.
