Sink your teeth into this 'True Blood' character chart
Text by Chris Nigrin

Truebies, rejoice! The Season 5 debut of HBO's sometimes trashy and campy but always vampy "True Blood" is mere days away. The show returns Sunday.

The Season 4 finale was a wild cliffhanger that left several plot threads dangling.

Among the questions begging to be answered are (SPOILER ALERT!): Is Tara really dead? She was shot by Debbie Pelt and looked pretty much like a goner as Sookie cradled her and sobbed. Will Sookie keep her vow and stay away from romantic entanglements with both Bill and Eric? Will that free her to hook up with Alcide (finally)? But can Alcide forgive Sookie for killing Debbie after she shot Tara? Is Terry and Arlene's baby a demon seed? What role will cast newcomer Christopher Meloni ("Law & Order: SVU") play? Who released Russell from his underground concrete prison? And why? And the vamp-hating Rev. Newlin … with fangs? Really? Who turned him into a vampire? Will he attack Jason? Newlin was on Jason's doorstep the last we saw them both.

So … for the uninitiated, who might be confused trying to untangle the complex web of character connections, for avid fans who need a fix NOW, before Sunday, and just because we thought it would be fun, we've created this interactive cast of characters, a family tree of sorts.

Roll over a character's picture to read more about him or her and to discover more about each one's connections to others on the show.
